Who is responsible for your information?
MedBase operates from 265 Main Street, Waterkloof, Pretoria. Privacy enquiries and requests may be sent to info@medbase.co.za or discussed with the academy team on +27 68 629 3096.
Information MedBase may receive
Depending on the request, MedBase may receive your name, profession, HPCSA number, practice, speciality or clinical focus, city, province, email address, mobile number, previous-training status, course interests, communication choices and any information you voluntarily add to an enquiry.
Why the information is used
- To respond to a training enquiry or practitioner-access request.
- To assess professional eligibility and identify an appropriate training or membership pathway.
- To administer bookings, attendance, certificates or alumni support when relevant.
- To send practitioner-education updates only through a channel for which you have given the relevant permission, or where another lawful basis applies.
- To maintain reasonable operational, legal and professional records.
How the website form works
The enquiry and practitioner-registration forms send the submitted information through a same-site handler to info@medbase.co.za. The current website does not create a practitioner database account. Short-lived technical rate-limit records may be used to reduce spam; they do not contain the submitted form details.
Once the notification is accepted for email delivery, the request may be retained in MedBase’s mailbox and operational records for the purposes described above. Email acceptance by the website does not guarantee final delivery, so WhatsApp and direct email remain available as fallback contact routes.
Training updates are optional
A request for course or portal assistance is separate from optional ongoing marketing. On the practitioner-access form, email and WhatsApp update permissions are presented separately and are not preselected. You can withdraw either permission at any time by replying STOP on WhatsApp or emailing MedBase.
Sharing, protection and retention
MedBase may use service providers that support communication, hosting, administration, booking or training delivery. Information should only be made available where reasonably necessary for those functions, legal duties or the protection of legitimate rights. MedBase should retain information only for as long as reasonably required for the relevant purpose, professional record obligations or applicable law.
Your choices and requests
You may ask MedBase to correct or update information, explain how it is being used, object to certain processing, withdraw optional communication permission or consider a deletion request where retention is not otherwise required. You may also contact South Africa’s Information Regulator.
This operational notice should be reviewed when MedBase activates a database-backed portal, online payments, automated verification or a new communications provider.
